Laylatu l-Qadr Night of Greatness Night of Destiny

The month of Ramadan, which is the best of the year, has the best night of the year: Al-Qadr night. It’s the best of the year, as the day of ʿArafah is the best of the year. It is better than 1000 months, according to verse 3 of Sourat al-Qadr. The night of Al-Qadr - night of the Value - has a great merit and can be any night of Ramadan.

Predestination of Good and Evil. Destiny Qadar

It is a duty to believe that God has predestined and created good and evil, but Allah rewards good and does not reward evil. He is the creator of the acts of slaves, of their wills and of their intentions whether they be good or evil. Allah orders good and forbids the evil.

Middle of Month of Shaʿbân. Night of 15 Shaban

The Prophet said: « إذا كانت ليلةُ النصفِ من شعبانَ فقوموا ليلَها وصُوموا نهارها » which means: « Spend the night preceding the 15th day of Shaʿbân in acts of obedience, and fast the next day. » The night of the middle-Shaban is a blessed night.

Believing in the Qadar Destiny

Allâh, taʿâlâ, said in the Qur’ân:(إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ) which means: « Allâh creates everything according to His Destining.» [Ayah 49 of Suratul-Qamar]. And the Prophet said: « اْلإِيمَانُ أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللهِ وَمَلاَئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الاخِرِ وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ »Which means: « Belief is to believe in Allâh, His angels, His Books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and to believe in the qadar (destiny), both the good and the evil. » [Related by Muslim.]

Believing in the Qadar Destiny

Allâh creates everything according to His Destining. And the Prophet said: « Belief is to believe in Allâh, His angels, His Books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and to believe in the qadar (destiny), both the good and the evil. »

Al-Bayhaqiyy reported according to Ibnu ʿAbbas that he said: the prophet was born the year of the elephant. One must believe he was born in Makkah and sent as a Messenger therein; he immigrated to al-Madinah and was buried therein ; and he was truthful in everything he told about and conveyed from Allâh.

Fasting six days of Shawwal

The Prophet is reported to have said which means: « Whoever fasts the month of Ramaḍân, and then follows it up by (fasting) six days of Shawwal, it is as though he has fasted the whole year. » (narrated by Imam Muslim)

Honored Angels in Islam
